Berhampur: The Berhampur Police yesterday intercepted a car coming from Tamil Nadu and seized gold jewelry and silver ornaments worth more than three crore rupees. Three persons travelling in the car have also been detained by the Gosaninuagaon police for interrogation. The gold and silver ornaments weighing 6.7 Kgs and 240 Kgs respectively are said to have been brought to Berhampur from Salem in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the police have informed the tax authorities to investigate the issue as it seems a case of tax evasion.
