Malkangiri: Naxal Shuns Path of Violence to Join Mainstream
Bhubaneswar: In response to appeals made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a hardcore Naxal cadre in Malkangiri district shunned the path of violence to join the mainstream. Deeply inspired by the development works initiated by the Odisha Government in the remote areas, Mahadev Madkami, the Naxal cadre reportedly carrying cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head, has surrendered before police in Malkangiri district on Sunday. This has been informed by Malkangiri SP Rishikesh Khilari. “In response to the call of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to Naxal to leave the path of violence and join peaceful development process, today one active Naxal cadre Mahadev Madkami has surrendered before Malkangiri Police”, the SP said.
