Fresh Lopar Likely to Trigger Heavy Rain from Monday, SRC asks Collectors to Remain Alert
Bhubaneswar: In view of fresh low pressure on the Bay of Bengal between August 24 and 26, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) today asked collectors of all districts to remain alert and prepared to meet any waterlogging, localized flood and other exigencies In letter, the SRC has asked all Collectors to closely monitor the situation with continuous vigil of low lying areas. The SRC further asked to ensure functioning of control room round the clock. Meanwhile, the Met department, said a fresh low pressure area is likely to form around August 24. Under its influence, several parts of Odisha will experience rainfall activity for around three days starting tomorrow. Several parts of Odisha including Puri, Balasore, Kandhamal, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal will experience heavy rainfall today, it said.
